RFaxis Unveils Antenna Diversity ZigBee IC
Antenna diversity ZigBee IC.
Irvine, CA — RFaxis, a fabless semiconductor company, has launched the RFX2411, a 2.4GHz single-chip ZigBee
RF Front-end IC (RFeIC
) which includes a power amplifier, low-noise amplifier and antenna diversity switch all in single-die CMOS process. The new IC adds to the company's family of ZigBee/ISM products for Smart Energy, Smart Utility Network (SUN), Home Area Network (HAN), Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), Industrial Control, RF4CE and 6LowPAN applications. The highly efficient IC delivers up to +21dBm of output power while packed in a miniature, ultra-thin 3 x 3 x 0.5mm QFN package.
According to the company, a dual antenna or diversity antenna system is an excellent solution for wireless systems that operate in non-line-of-sight (NLOS) indoor/outdoor environments that suffer from multipath reflections. RFX2411 was designed to address this problem and provides an excellent complementary offering to the company's ZigBee products along with the recently released RFX2401C.
