Isolated Analog Load Cell Summing Transmitter from Calex

Concord, CA — New from Calex Mfg. Co., Inc., the Model 4800 Summing Transmitter is a cost-effective highly versatile solution for multiple load cell systems. It can accept both AC and DC power inputs, power up to four load cells, while providing three-way isolation, and four output options. All input/output options are included as provided by the factory.
The unit can be powered from 115VAC, 230VAC, or 11 to 30VDC. It has a built-in excitation supply capable of delivering up to 120mA at 10V, more than enough current to drive four 350Ω load cells. The 4800 provides complete three-way signal isolation. The input is isolated from the output and both are isolated from the supply voltage, eliminating unwanted ground loop problems. The output options available are 0 to 20mA or 0 to 10V and 4 to 20mA or 2 to 10V. Overall accuracy over the normal room temperature range is excellent at <±0.1 percent of full scale.
The high gain, low drift and low temperature coefficient allows full scale live load signals as low as 5mV to be amplified to 20mA or 10V with an overall accuracy of ±0.1 percent. Designed to meet large and very stable tare offset requirements, the 4800 can tare off up to 80 percent of the output of a 3mV/V load cell (at 10V excitation).
The dimensions of the standalone unit are 9.0 x 7.25 x 2.2-in. (228 x 184 x 56mm). All connections are made via easily accessible screw terminals. All potentiometers are located for ease of adjustment as well. The unit can be ordered with a choice of two NEMA enclosures or standalone.
