Spokane Valley, WA — ACE Production Technologies is presenting its new next-generation KISS-205 fully in-line automated Selective Soldering system. The system effectively splits the process of fluxing, pre-heating and soldering to significantly gain productivity by reducing TAKT by up to 50 percent vs. incremental processing.

In the KISS-205, a PCB is fluxed and brought to preheat temperature, then sent to the second conveyor for soldering while concurrently applying flux to and pre-heating the next PCB. This procedure results in virtually doubling the machine's speed over a conventional system.
The new machine is a fully configured In-Line SMEMA-compatible selective soldering system that includes as standard features: "Super Quick" motion with closed loop position feedback with linear encoders for fastest processing times; rapid setup and time to "first production" with the intuitive KISSware off-line programming; dual universal PCB edge conveyor with program controlled width adjustment, positive PCB location and PCB flattening; dual pre-heater modules that are independently controlled with optical pyrometers; automated fiducial XY and skew correction; and more programmable features and innovative components including the company's advanced design and performance volumetric atomized fluxer and drop jet fluxer.
According to the company, the unit gives the user absolute control over all critical process parameters, including the user-programmable solder wave flow rate. The machine enables user-definable process optimization capabilities reportedly not found in comparable competitive selective soldering systems.
