OK Int'l: New Metcal Scorpion Rework System

Garden Grove, CA — OK International is giving a sneak preview of the new Metcal Scorpion Rework System. In addition to this exciting preview, OK is also displaying a wide range of its products including hand soldering and rework equipment, convection rework, fume extraction, and fluid dispensing. Several new and upgraded products are also being highlighted.

The MFR-1300 Series Desoldering and Rework Systems are the company's next generation of standalone desoldering equipment. Some of the key features include a self-contained, powerful pump, 2-in-1 ergonomic and flexible hand-piece that can be used in either a pencil or pistol style, and a collection chamber with 40 percent increased capacity over earlier systems. The new power supply has an internal pump providing 21-in. Hg (0.701 atmosphere) of vacuum suction force combined with Smartheat® technology that makes through-hole desoldering easy and keeps products safe from board damage. The new and improved MRS-1100A Modular Rework System is an integrated convection rework system designed for the removal and reflow of BGA/CSP and SMT components. With standard features such as programmability, a digital display, and program storage of up to 50 profiles, this system is not only versatile, but also easy and efficient to work with. The MRS-1100A allows the choice of using either the embedded profiling capability that can be configured to operate at a fixed temperature, or a four-zone programming option. Moreover, the system can be configured to any specific needs. Four components can be purchased as a complete system (MRS-1100A) or as separate items: HCT-1000 Programmable Hand Held Convection Tool, ATH-1100A Adjustable Tool Holder, PCT-1000 Programmable Preheater, and the BH-2000 Board Holder.
