Gore Intros New Gen PTFE Membrane Filters
Defining filter performance.
Elkton, MD — W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) is introducing a new generation of PTFE membranes in HDPE cartridge filters, for the manufacture of high-purity chemicals used in semiconductor and LCD/FPD fabrication.
The new Gore
filters incorporate the company's latest ePTFE (expanded polytetrafluoroethylene) membrane technology that provides extraordinary combinations of retention and flow performance. All non-PTFE components utilize high-density polyethylene (HDPE) to ensure very low organic and metal ion extractables. The HDPE family of cartridge filters is available in three retention ratings — 0.1µm, 30nm and 20nm.
The new HDPE family of cartridge filters can be used as drop-in replacements for existing filters to provide 150 up to 400 percent improvement in flow capability over the best filter technology currently available at the same retention rating. This dramatically increased performance can provide a drop-in retention upgrade while maintaining system flow capacity. At the same retention, this performance can be used to increase process capacity, or decrease the number of filters needed. The filters are especially suitable for high-turnover recirculation filter systems or as the final filter in high-throughput chemical filling and packaging systems.
