API Delevan Intros MIL Spec Hi Rel Inductors
MIL spec inductor.
Aurora, NY — API Delevan has introduced some of the world's smallest space level SMD inductors that are rigorously tested to Mil-STD-981 for High Reliability applications. According to the company, it has combined its proprietary winding and bonding techniques, and used its sophisticated environmental test lab, to provide the reliability and assurances needed for stringent circuit solutions. The lab is capable of performing load life testing, thermal shock, powered burn-in, short time overload, real time x-ray and extreme temperature testing.

The new devices are manufactured and tested in the USA by a qualified Mil-STD-981, Mil-PRF-39010 "R" company for the level of reliability demanded for Space flight with fully documented baselines in accordance with MIL-STD-981C, MIL-PRF-83446C, and Mil-PRF-39010.

The inductors undergo group A & B testing regimen; have high-temperature ceramic cores and magnet wire to provide excellent temperature stability and mechanical ruggedness. The inductors can have optional water-dissolvable top caps for automated pick-and-place systems.

Low AC and DC resistance minimizes voltage drops and dissipated power; high Q and ultra high SRF values enable stable inductor functionality into the GHz range. Operating temperature range is -55 to +125°C with optional higher operating temperatures available.

Applications for the S0402 and S0603 inductors include space flight RF filters and oscillators; bias chokes for RF gain amplifier blocks; hi-rel RF Transmitters and receivers; noise and EMI suppressors for analog, digital and mixed signal circuits; frequency synthesizers and mixers; RF switched filter banks; and test equipment.
