WAGO I/O Devices Earn ATEX, IEC Ex Certs
Newly certified I/O blocks.
Germantown, WI — Nearly 30 couplers, controllers and I/O modules from WAGO Corporation's WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM now carry ATEX and IEC Ex Certifications for operating in temperatures up to +60°C. This extends fieldbus-independent support of the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM to a variety of hazardous apps in dust-laden process (corn/coal mills, cement and bio-gas plants) and energy management (gas/oil production) industries.
Although designed for Zone 2/22 and non-hazardous locations, the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM safely integrates signals from sensors/actuators via Ex i segments. Components in Zones 0/22 and 1/21 that serve Ex i applications can be cost-effectively integrated into higher-level control systems without additional components, such as intrinsically safe barriers.
