Low-Cost Electric Actuiators from Tolomatic
Electric large force actuators.
Hamel, MN — Tolomatic's new low-cost ERD20 actuator is designed with a larger diameter ball screw and a stroke length of up to 24-in. (609.6mm). With this line extension, ERD rod-style electric actuators now deliver forces up to 500 pounds (2224 N). ERD actuators are stroke configurable.

The products are suitable for a wide variety of applications, including product change-overs, pick-and-place, sorting and diverting, and pressing.

According to the company, the higher forces and longer stroke lengths mean that the affordable ERD rod-style electric actuators can now replace pneumatic actuators in a wider range of applications. In addition to greater force and stroke, the ERD20 is available with ball screws for extended and predictable service life.

The ERD family of rod-style electric actuators is available in body sizes that are equivalent to non-repairable pneumatic cylinder bore sizes of 5/8-in. (15.88mm), 1-in. (25.4mm), 1.5-in. (38.1mm) and 2-in. (50.8mm). Strokes are available in lengths up to 8-in. (203.2mm) for the ERD06, 10-in. (254mm) for the ERD10, and 24-in. (609.6mm). for the ERD15 and 20 sizes. Forces range up to 20 lbs (89N) for the smallest size, and up to 500 lbs (2224N) for the ERD20.

The actuators accept a wide variety of NEMA and metric stepper and servo motors. In addition, all four sizes of the ERD product family are offered with 300 series stainless steel options and IP67 options for harsh environments, such as in the food and beverage industry.

The ERD actuator comes standard with a metric-threaded rod end that is compatible with a wide variety of commercially available accessories and makes the conversion from pneumatic to electric even more convenient.
