Norplex-Micarta Intros New Solder Pallet Material
Postville, IA — Norplex-Micarta is introducing WaveMax
8000, a woven glass fabric combined with a high temperature static dissipative epoxy resin. WaveMax 8000 solder pallet material offers excellent mechanical strength at continuous operating temperature in excess of 180°C. It was designed for wave soldering and IR re-flow applications, so it can endure temperatures approaching 300°C for short periods of time, without adversely affecting the life of the material.
The material has the advantages of offering more uniform ESD properties and superior machining capabilities over other comparable materials on the market. WaveMax 8000 solder pallets with thin walls are easily machined with extraordinary precision while retaining their static dissipative properties.
Norplex-Micarta offers a variety of WaveMax materials but the WaveMax 8000 is unique in that it incorporates a woven glass substrate. WaveMax 5000 and 6000 are both produced with a nonwoven random glass substrate. Being able to offer woven and nonwoven glass substrates allows the company to meet various customer demands.
