VLM from Kardex Remstar Saves Space, Expands Capacity
Element vertical lift module.
Westbrook, ME — The newest addition to the Kardex Remstar Vertical Lift Module family, the Element VLM, saves up to 80 percent floor space when compared to standard shelving. Designed with simplicity and quality at its core, the Element VLM allows electronic operations to expand internally without construction or relocation.

The VLM squeezes the wasted air space out of shelving, providing increased storage density. The Element VLM is an enclosed system of vertically arranged trays, an extraction platform and a series of computerized controls that delivers items to an ergonomically positioned workstation. It automatically locates and retrieves stored items with a push of a button or a scan of a bar code. When storing inventory, the system uses CubeStar technology, the product stored on the tray is scanned allowing the Element VLM to store the tray in the least amount of space required. Using 4-in. (101mm) storage increments, the wasted air space in shelving is virtually eliminated. Thus a tray that has products that are 3-in. (76mm) tall it stored in a 4-in. space.

This storage flexibility allows organizations to store various size products in the VLM without reconfiguring the unit. When product heights change the Element VLM simply stores the tray in a larger or smaller location to match the new product height. There is no need to adjust and move shelves.
