Sapient Automation Names Ed Romaine Chief Marketing Officer
Doylestown, PA — Sapient Automation, a subsidiary of MDCI, a provider of automated storage and retrieval systems including Carousels and Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs), announces the appointment of Ed Romaine as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for the organization.

Romaine has three decades of experience in marketing automated material handling systems. Having most recently spent 10 years with KardexRemstar as the VP of Marketing and nine years with White Systems as its director of marketing. Within the industry trade organization, Material Handling Institute of America (MHIA) Romaine has been the Chairman for the Supply Chain Execution (SCE) group of America since 2009, was Chairman of the Order Fulfillment Council of America (2003 to 2008) and helped create the Carousel and VLM Product Section Group. He also spearheaded the efforts to create the first industry safety standards for horizontal carousels.

Romaine is a frequent editorial and information contributor to hundreds of publications and a speaker at many Supply Chain, Logistics and Ergonomic functions including the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), Promat, North American Material Handling, Southern California Plant Operations, NJ Material Handling Assoc., Applied Ergonomics, Warehousing Education & Research Council (WERC), Lean Manufacturing Conference, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), NeoCon, Health Information Distribution Association (HIDA), National Catalog & Operations (NCOF) and more.
