TDK-EPC Extends Power Factor Correction Capacitor Range
Capacitor for power factor correction.
Iselin, NJ — TDK-EPC, a group company of the TDK Corporation, has extended its range of power factor correction (PFC) capacitors by adding PhaseCap
Compact series to its existing portfolio of PhaseCap Premium; PhaseCap HD; PhiCap and MKV series.
The EPCOS PhaseCap Compact series comprises types with voltages of 230, 400, 415, 440, 480 and 525VAC. This means that the PhaseCap Compact series now covers a voltage range from 230 to 525VAC at 50/60Hz and a capacitance range of between 3 x 27µF and 3 x 251µF (50/60Hz). Depending on the type, they can compensate reactive powers ranging from 6 to 30kvar at 60Hz.
Because of their special construction, these capacitors have high Inrush current (Is) withstand capability. The capacitors' self-healing design means that individual dielectric breakdowns do not destroy the capacitor. An integrated overpressure disconnector ensures additional safety. The capacitors are designed for a continuous operating temperature of 65°C (casing) and a service life of up to 200,000 hours.
