Handheld Ultrasonic Welder from Sonitek
Handheld ultrasonic welder and power supply.
Milford, CT — Sonitek's handheld 40kHz 400-watt welding system Model Ultra-Tek 40.4 incorporates a digital frequency generator and controller with intelligent cooling system. It is compatible with the Branson & Dukane® 40kHz converters and probes.

Features of the handheld welding system include: welding by time, energy or peak power with settable ±window limits; auto-tuning; line and load regulation maintains even amplitude; adjustable amplitude from 50 to 100 percent with digital control; auto-frequency and power (wattage) displayed after each cycle; settable amplitude/power ramp-up rate for starting larger horns.

In addition, the welder has an LCD Multi-function display with switchable on/off back-lit display; test button for vibrating horn or transducer; protection against no-load operation; overload protection to protect equipment; power and status display; short-circuit protection; standard interface for monitoring and control with 15 pole D-sub connector. The system has thermal protection that turns on an internal fan over the heat-sink and also will shut the system down when it gets too hot internally.

The power supply's ambient temperature range is -10 to +40°C; operation is at 40kHz at 400 watts, powered by 110VAC, 50/60Hz, and 220VAC is also available. The power supply measures 9.85 x 2.95 x 7.08-in. (250 x 75 x 180mm) and weighs 6.17 lbs (2.8kg).

The handheld probe outputs a frequency of 40kHz, measures 6.15-in. (156mm) long and has a maximum diameter of 2-in. (50mm), has a cable length of 8-in. (203mm) and weighs 1-lb. (0.45kg).
