Compact Hi Freq VCXO from NDK
Compact VCXO.
Belvidere, IL — NDK (Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co., Ltd.) is introducing the NV7050SA high frequency series, an SMD VCXO (Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillator). The VCXO uses proprietary high frequency fundamental mode crystals and is able to obtain frequencies of 700MHz (available in a range of 170 to 700MHz) without the use of PLL frequency multiplication methods. The end result is the reduction of phase jitter as low as 38.0fs (femtoseconds — 100fs max.), a reduction of more than 80 percent when compared to previously available products in this class.

The NV7050SA was developed in response to the demands of high-speed wireless broadband networks and base stations for mobile communication. These products require high frequency clock signals between 600 and 700MHz for optical transmission and optical multiple-wavelength transmission. The compact package 7.0 x 5.0 x 1.6mm is just 10 percent of the volume of comparable VCXOs on the market.

The device is available in a frequency range of 170 to 700MHz with a nominal frequency tolerance of ±50 ppm. The APR (absolute pull range) is ±100 ppm. It operates on 3.3VDC over a temperature range of -40 to +85°C. Output is available as LVPECL or LVDS. They are in lead-free packaging which meets the requirements for reflow profiling using lead-free solder and are RoHS-compliant.
