Pulse Intros Compact JKM Ethernet Platform
RJ45 Ethernet platform.
San Diego, CA — Pulse, a Technitrol Company is introducing its new compact JKM platform, a 10-pin 1 X 1 gigabit RJ45, used for connecting a transceiver to an Ethernet cable. The device's compact footprint design allows for a 38 percent savings of circuit board space compared with existing gigabit JK0 platforms.
The new platform was designed for OEMs who need compact components for low-end Ethernet applications such as set-top boxes.
Electrically, the JKM has been tested to comply with IEEE specifications and standards, including IEEE802.3. The platform is backward-compatible to 10Mbps and 100Mbps data throughputs and is configurable to the latest core topologies so that it performs optimally with many voltage/current mode PHYs (transceivers) available today.
Mechanically, the footprint is similar to most 10/100 1 X 1 RJ45s for easy board re-spin to enable migration of future products into the gigabit arena. It is also configurable with or without LEDs and EMI-fingers. The product is packaged in trays.
