WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM Celebrates 15th Anniversary
Germantown, WI — The WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM is celebrating 15 years of fieldbus-independence, modularity and scalable performance. Debuting at the 1995 Hannover Fair, the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM streamlined traditional networking via two-conductor lines for distributed inputs and outputs.
This yielded I/O controllers housing the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM's greatest attribute: fieldbus-independence.
Unheard of in 1995, the open WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM took fieldbus-independence from concept to industrial standard by providing the flexibility to select the best components while offering backward compatibility with existing components. The support of 16+ international protocols tailors applications to specific regions/preferences while maintaining the efficiencies of unified system. To fulfill varying requirements, the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM was developed around the granular, "slice I/O" concept (1...8-channels) — freeing users to purchase only what's needed.
