Leine & Linde Extreme Encoder from Heidenhain
Encoder for extreme environments.
Strangnas, Sweden — The new Extreme 1000 series from Leine & Linde offers encoders for severe environments. Available in North America through Heidenhain Corporation, the measurement and function range on this encoder is especially designed to meet the exceptional requirements of the steel, crane and mining machinery industries. In such applications, the encoder is exposed to extreme mechanical stress, vibration and shock, as well as dusty environments and high temperatures.
According to the company, the encoder's sturdy bearings and enclosure provide extraordinary durability in all applications with similar demands. The enclosure, rated IP67, easily protects the encoder's internal components from dust and liquids. A stainless steel housing is available as a special option.
Different incremental and absolute versions of the 1000 series are available, and a combination of the various encoder types can even be integrated in the same 1000 series product. For the first time ever, absolute pulse encoders with the Profibus interface can now be used in extremely tough industrial environments by using this encoder. The absolute variants are also available with interfaces such as SSI, EnDat, CANopen, DeviceNet
or with a parallel output with resolutions up to 25 bit.
