GardTec: Green Fan Cord with Thermostat
Green fan cord has built-in thermostat.
Racine, WI — GardTec's Green Fan Cord is described as the industry's only AC fan cord that is thermostatically controlled. This Patent Pending product is designed to simply replace the current fan cord; no additional wiring, circuit boards, controls boxes, or design changes are required. The cord will automatically turn the AC cooling fan on when the system heat rises, then turn it off when the system heat drops, allowing the fan to run only during those times when the system calls for additional cooling. This provides savings in energy and costs, while reducing fan-generated noise and increasing product life.
Controlling the internal ambient temperature of applications is critical to the proper functioning and life expectancy. The most cost effective method in controlling ambient temperatures is thermal management of forced air cooling.
The maximum recommended ambient operating temperature of typical equipment is considered to be 85 to 88°F. As ambient temperatures increase due to system usage, circuit component life is reduced by up to 45 percent for each additional 10 to 12° rise in ambient temperature. Product performance, service, life and reliability are in direct relation to ambient temperatures.
The Green Fan Cord is designed to control multiple fans with a single thermostat. Typical applications would include fan trays, allowing for the fans trays to turn on as system heat rises, without the need for additional costly controls. Multiple end connections are also available.
