PI Intros Microscope Piezo Stage
Piezo microscope stage.
Auburn, MA — PI (Physik Instrumente) L.P. has introduced the new P-736 high-speed microscope slide Z-scanner piezo stage. The new PI nano piezo-Z stages are optimized for very fast step and settle and easy integration into high-resolution microscope applications. They feature have a very low profile a large aperture, and travel ranges of up to 200µm with sub-nanometer closed-loop resolution — especially suitable for leading-edge microscopy and imaging applications.

The piezo stages are designed for inverted microscopes from the four major manufacturers: Leica, Nikon, Olympus and Zeiss. The low profile design of 20mm (0.8-in.) facilitates the integration. The large aperture accommodates such microscopy accessories as slide holders, Petri dish holders, etc.

The piezo stage provides extremely fast step and settle, from 5msec, while it very cost effective due to piezoresistive sensors. Its optional 25 x 25mm long travel stage serves as a stable base, and the low profile provides for easy integration.

The piezo stage is available with 100 and 200µm travel ranges, while providing a very long lifetime with ceramic encapsulated PICMA® piezo technology. It is compatible with leading image acquisition software packages, and is equipped with closed-loop control for high repeatability and accuracy.
