Goepel Intros JTAG Access Cable Interface Module
Jena, Germany — Goepel electronic has introduced BAC 9305-RS422/485 Bus Access Cables (BAC) as a new member of the company's JTAG/Boundary Scan hardware platform SCANFLEX®.

When used with the SCANFLEX multi-port module SFX-9305, the new bus access cables enable the tests of RS422 and RS485 interfaces, in combination with extended JTAG/Boundary Scan operations.

Interference-free data transfers via RS422 and RS 485 are highly important, particularly in automation technology and the electronics industry. The new cables now enable complete testing through these interfaces. Because the test doesn't require specific firmware, it is reportedly possible to minimize project development costs and increase fault coverage quality.

The BAC 9305-RS422/485 module becomes the seventh family member of a group that already includes Bluetooth, LAN, USB2.0 (Master/Slave), RS232, CAN and LIN. Each BAC can be independently plugged into any free port of the SFX-9305 I/O module; the interface will be recognized and configured automatically.

Available interface functions include handling of protocol layers and bi-directional data transfer. Because of this, users are able to control the interface target without additional driver software, and clearly identify faults.
