NBS Boosts SMT Assembly Capacity
NBS President and CEO Michael Maslana with one of five advanced SMT lines at the company's headquarters facility in Santa Clara, CA.
Santa Clara, CA — EMS provider NBS has acquired and installed an additional new SMT line at its headquarters facility in Santa Clara, California. Continued growth in demand for the company's end-to-end solutions fueled the need for what is now its fifth fully automated line.

The new line includes Juki's sixth generation KE 2070/2080 modular high-speed placement system with on-the-fly laser centering and 16,000 CPH placement rate. This additional line further expands the EMS provider's capacity to accommodate volume assembly and all up-to-date package styles including 01005, 0201, 0402, QFP, QFN, ball grid array (BGA), µBGA, and chip-scale packages

According to the company, in stark contrast to the slowdown in the electronics industry in 2009, it enjoyed more than a doubling in revenue growth. NBS provides end-to-end solutions that include design engineering, manufacturing engineering, NPI, production, supply chain and logistics, test, box build and systems integration. The company services technology businesses throughout the world and has facilities in Santa Clara and Santa Barbara, California; Nashua, New Hampshire; and Jakarta, Indonesia.
