Keystone: Insulated Coin Cell Retainers
Retainers handle one or two coin cells.
Astoria, NY — A new series of insulated low profile Coin Cell Retainers, suited for high density PCB packaging is the latest innovation for surface and thru hole mount battery retainers from Keystone Electronics Corp.
The unusual patent-pending design protects the battery from shorting if inserted incorrectly. The new retainers also allow the user to stack two 20mm cells on top of each other to achieve 6V from the same board footprint or for single cell 3-volt applications. The retainers are rugged yet lightweight, with clearly marked polarity, and are designed for both lead-free solder and traditional reflow processes. The solder tails located outside the insulating material, support visual inspection systems.
Catalog No. 3020 (SMT) or Catalog No. 3021 (THM) will accommodate two 2016 size coin cells, or Catalog No. 3022 (SMT) or Catalog No. 3023 (THM) for two 2020 or two 2025 size coin cells. The new retainers are available in bulk or on tape-and-reel.
