Schunk Intros New Metal Cutting Toolholder
Heavy duty toolholder.
Morrisville, NC — With the new SINO-R, Schunk is extending its toolholder product range with this product that is especially well suited for heavy-duty metal cutting and rough milling.

The universal toolholder is based on the expansion technology system with a solid body as a pressure medium and is clamped very quickly using a simple actuation key. This saves the user a lot of setup time and considerably reduces unproductive machine down-times. The excellent interaction of high radial rigidity and very good dampening characteristics is a special highlight that reduces machining noises and increases the smooth running of the tool. The result is a high service life for the tool and excellent surface quality of the workpiece. The tool also eliminates unwanted chatter marks which frequently appear with conventional toolholder systems. SINO-R holds the tool securely, because of its maximum torque transmission (850 Nm, at a clamping diameter of 32mm). An additional plus for the user: because of the use of intermediate sleeves, the toolholder can be used flexibly. Nearly all common shank diameters can be clamped.

The toolholder is precision-balanced as standard. Both the machine spindle and the lip of the tool are therefore conserved.
