1-Source Electronic Components, Maximizes Procurement Results
Port Jefferson Station, NY — Following double-digit declines in unit shipments of key system markets, low utilization rates, and price erosion within the chip market, more and more OEM and CM distributors have become concerned about efficiencies in supply chain management. In response, 1-Source Electronic Components has ramped up its efforts, rapidly responding to real-time production requirements and real-time market pricing in order to maximize procurement results.
The semiconductor market, which is tightly correlated to GDP, is not expected to reach an inflection point until GDP rises, worldwide manufacturing rebounds, and consumer confidence is reflected on Main Street. With demand visibility low, utilization rates at stagnate levels, and supplier inventories growing because of deteriorating demand targets, 1-Source does not anticipate year-over-year growth for semiconductor revenues until the second quarter of 2010. As part of its program to ramp-up sales efforts, 1-Source has launched an employment recruitment campaign for account managers in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut areas, along with an independent manufacturing/procurement representatives program nationally and internationally.
