XP Power: Economical 1U Power Supplies
Low-cost 1U power supply.
Sunnyvale, CA — XP Power has introduced the VCT60 series of 60-Watt, single-output AC/DC power supplies, the first of its new V-Brand range of low cost power supplies. Fitting into a standard 1U space, measuring 2 x 4 x 0.95-in. (50.8 x 101 x 24.1mm), the units are suitable for designers requiring an economical power supply that can fit into an industry standard 2 x 4-in. footprint.

The first product in the family, the 60 Watt open-frame VCT series, comprises 10 single output models that provide popular nominal output voltages from +5 to +30VDC. Having a no-load power consumption less than 0.5-Watt, using the VCT60 helps to comply with internationally recognized energy-saving initiatives.

The VCT60 can deliver 125 percent of rated power for up to 30 seconds. Designers need not specify a higher rated unit when additional power is only needed for short periods — which saves space and cost.

Operating from -10 to +70°C, the convection-cooled supplies can provide full output power up to +50°C. No additional heatsinking or forced airflow is required, again saving space and the cost of extra cooling components.

The units comply with the EN55022, level B standard for both conducted and radiated emissions without the need for additional filtering components. Overvoltage, overload and short-circuit protection features are included as standard across the whole range.
