SemiProbe Expands Probe Product Family
Wafer level probing test system.
Colchester, VT — SemiProbe has released its new programmable stage series for the flexible Probe System for Life (PS4L). With the addition of these stages, the PS4L is able to grow and transform as the user's needs and budget grow. According to the company, the patent pending PS4L family of probe systems provides flexibility never before available.
The company often refers to the design as its "Lego" or "Erector Set" concept. All key components are interchangeable and customers can purchase just what they need and can afford. The system lends itself to perpetual upgrading as applications and budgets change. The PS4L can be used in dedicated as well as multi-functional applications and markets. The new stages allow systems to be configured or "field upgraded" to SA-4 (100mm), SA-6 (150mm) or SA-8 (200mm) semiautomatic capability. The company's PILOT software suite provides the operating system for these probers.
Applications range from research and development work on energy-related products such as solar, high brightness LEDs and fuel cells to volume production probing of MEMS devices.
