Keystone Intros Low-Profile Battery Clips Low-profile battery clips. Astoria, NY — Keystone Electronics has developed a new group of low-profile clips which firmly secure inserted batteries and withstand shock and vibration. The new clips were created to meet accelerated demands for "AA" and "A" surface mount battery clips for dense packaging use. Featured are an exclusive "flow hole" SMT solder tail design which significantly enhances joint strength and assures battery retention. Low profiles make the clips suitable for dense PC board placements. The new SMT clips are made of 0.012-in. (0.30mm) thick, nickel-plated steel and are available in bulk (part #53) or on tape-and-reel (part #53TR) with 125 pieces per 15.0-in. reel. A 44mm wide Polystyrene carrier tape, meeting ANSI/EIA-481 standards, is used as the reel with parts mounted on a 24mm pitch.
