TDK-Lambda Launches Isolated DC-DC Converters
Fully isolated DC-DC converter.
San Diego, CA — TDK-Lambda has launched a new family of single and dual-output, 40-watt, DC-DC converters that operate from a 4:1 wide range input — making them suitable for applications where the input voltage can vary widely, including datacom, telecom, distributed power, and POL architectures. The new PXF40-W series are fully isolated converters that have six-sided shielded metal cases.

The metal cases reduce radiated noise to meet EN55022 Level A specifications. The converters are available with a wide 4:1 DC input range of either 9 to 36V or 18 to 75V, which reduces the number of parts that need to be inventoried at the user's facility while enhancing the flexibility of the end user's products.

Footprints for these devices are industry standard 2 x 2 x 0.4-in. The converters provide a total output power level of up to 40 watts and are available with single output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, or 15V, and dual-output voltages of ±12V or ±15V.

The devices provide efficiencies of up to 88 percent and MTBF (mean time between failures) in excess of 1.3 million hours, are safety-approved to UL60950 and EN60950 specifications, and are RoHS-compliant. Remote on/off, output trim, and over-current and over-voltage protections are included features.
