Bannockburn, IL — More than 325 exhibitors have signed on to participate in the 2009 IPC APEX EXPO
at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Convention Center in Las Vegas and the event is on track for a full show floor. The exhibition and premier technical conferences will take place March 31 to April 2, 2009.\par \More than 10,000 executives and engineers/managers representing original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), printed board (PCB) companies and electronics manufacturing services providers are expected to be at the event. This figure, combined with support from exhibitors, has kept the event in Tradeshow Week's "Top 200" list of largest trade shows in North America since 2001.
"This show has consistently brought a qualified audience of industry executives — the decision makers who specify, influence, or purchase equipment, materials, services for PCB manufacturing and electronics assembly worldwide — so leading industry suppliers know that this is the show to be at," said Mary Mac Kinnon, IPC director of trade show sales. "There's no other event like IPC APEX EXPO in the world, and our exhibitors, time after time, have recognized the great value the shows offer them."
Mac Kinnon also noted that the event also attracts an international audience. "Our international audience grew to 15 percent last year and we expect it will continue to grow, in part, because of the attraction of Las Vegas to the international audience, and also because IPC APEX EXPO is now one of the few events certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce for their international buyer program." U.S. consulates from around the world will assist IPC in promoting the event to companies in their respective countries to encourage attendance of international buyers and to facilitate partnerships with companies abroad.
For attendees like James Fuller, vice president and general manager of fabrication at Endicott Interconnect Technologies, Inc., there are multiple benefits — they can hone their technical and management skills, network with industry leaders, and meet with companies on the exhibit floor. "The event is an extremely efficient vehicle to meet with most of my key suppliers and to conduct meaningful business," Fuller said. "With the pace of today's business, I like to see the latest advancements in processes and equipment at the show and I really value the opportunity to get so much done in so little time."
