EPCOS Intros Protective CeraDiodes
CeraDiodes protect hi-speed data lines. .
Iselin, NJ — EPCOS has extended its range of CeraDiodes with a new type with typical capacitance of 0.6pF in case size 0603 (semiconductor diode package SOD-523). The company now offers CeraDiodes in case sizes 0402 and 0603 with a typical capacitance of 0.6pF. Both devices were developed for ESD protection of ultra-fast data lines, such as for HDMI.

CeraDiodes are ceramic multilayer semiconductor components designed for ESD protection of data lines (USB, Ethernet, Firewire, HDMI, etc.), as well as audio and video lines, analog and digital terminals, ICs and inputs/outputs of electronic equipment. They are also attractively priced alternatives to ESD protection components on a semiconductor basis, such as Zener and TVS diodes, and offer technical advantages. In many cases, CeraDiodes can replace semiconductor diodes 1:1 because they are identical in fit, form and function.
