FLIR Intros 3 Thermal Imagers
Infrared measuring camera.
Waltham, MA — FLIR Systems has launched its all-new, class-leading FLIR i-Series thermal imaging cameras. The affordable three-camera FLIR i-Series range — the i40, i50, and i60 — offers infrared diagnostic capabilities designed to help in-house plant maintenance, electrical and HVAC technicians, building inspectors, and pro thermographers alike find problems faster and more easily.

The i-Series introduces numerous features found in more expensive cameras, including FUSION scalable picture-in-picture that allows the user to precisely blend an IR image with a visual reference image on a large 3.5-in. color LCD for easier diagnostics and more compelling reports.

The built-in visual camera offers up to 2.3 megapixel resolution for rich details coupled with a built-in illuminator lamp to ensure quality images even in poorly-lit sites. The instrument reportedly provides 2 percent accuracy and a thermal sensitivity of <0.1°C at 25°C to deliver accurate and conclusive findings. The instrument's IR detectors range from 120 x 120, 140 x 140, to 180 x 180 pixels, the best available IR resolution.

The system is equipped with a 5-hour swappable Li-Ion battery and a lightweight, 1.3 pound, ergonomic grip design, for all-day, one-handed, "point and shoot" operation.

For identifying electrical, mechanical, or building envelope issues, the i-Series cameras quickly pay for themselves by revealing problems before a failure or expensive tear-down.

Equipped with everything needed for a running start, each instrument includes a 1GB micro SD Card which stores up to 1,000 radiometric JPEGs that require no special software for viewing and can be easily emailed or placed in Word docs without loss of temperature data. It is equipped with a Li-Ion rechargeable battery, an external power supply, QuickReport software with USB cable, lens cap, hand strap, and heavy duty case.
