CMOS Voltage Regulator from Seiko
CMOS voltage regulator.
Torrance, CA — The Seiko S-1155 Series, is a positive voltage regulator developed based on CMOS technology, with a super low dropout voltage, high output voltage accuracy, and low current consumption. According to the company, the regulators work with very small dropout voltage and large output current because of the built-in transistor's low on-resistance.
The overcurrent protector prevents the load current from exceeding the capacitance of the output transistor. The thermal shutdown circuit prevents damage caused by heat, the rush current control circuit limits the excessive rush current during startup.
According to the company, the ON/OFF circuit ensures longer battery life. Various capacitors and small ceramic capacitors can be used with this IC much more readily than for the conventional regulator ICs which have CMOS technology.
The small package SOT-89-5 enables high-density mounting, providing a constant-voltage power supply for portable equipment. Applications include use in power supplies for battery-powered devices, such as TVs, notebook PCs and home electric appliances.
