Phihong Intros Single-Port Ethernet Adapter
Fremont, CA — Phihong USA has introduced a 33.6-watt, single-port Power-over-Ethernet adapter that meets power specifications released in draft 3.0 of the IEEE802.3at that was approved for ballot at the end of March. Designated the POE36U, the high-power, single-port injector provides up to 33.6W of power on a single Ethernet port, making it suitable for a number of wireless applications.
These include IP telephones, wireless network access points, Bluetooth access points, access controls, security cameras, IP print servers and biometric sensors.
The POE36U is designed to meet the latest developments proposed by IEEE802.3at. It has the layer 1, 2 finger classification to indicate to the power device that it is a high-power, Type 2 device. The device is designed with the protocol required for Cisco AP1250 Series access points to run in full power mode.
It provides fully compliant detection, disconnect and voltage control. The adapter is Gigabit-compatible and incorporates diagnostic LEDs. Features include overvoltage, over-current, and short-circuit protection. In addition, the single-port adapter is 2-finger, Layer 1-classified and is backward compatible with IEEE802.3af.
