Altech®: Power Blocks Rated to 100kA Power distribution blocks. Flemington, NJ — Altech® power distribution blocks for industrial control panels have newly been approved to 100kA Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) in testing at 600V with Class J fuses. This high rating adds to their value as suitable solutions to meet the latest SCCR requirements governing all industrial UL508A industrial control panels. In accordance with NEC (National Electric Code) requirements, all industrial control panels must be marked with an SCCR consistent with UL508A safety standards and calculated based on ratings of individual panel components. The high 100kA SCCR elevates these power distribution blocks to preferred industry status in realizing optimum overall panel-rating objectives. Distribution blocks are available in one-phase or three-phase versions. Current ratings range from 80A to 310A, depending on model. The blocks incorporate 1 input (one-phase) or 3x1 inputs (three phase) and 5, 6, or 11 outputs (one-phase) and 3x6 outputs (three-phase). According to the company, all newly rated distribution blocks enable quick mounting (DIN rail or panel-mounted) and wiring; are IP20 finger safe; and can be integrated easily with other DIN rail-mountable modular devices.
