HumiSeal Intros Water-Based Conformal Coating
New conformal coating.
Pittsburgh, PA — HumiSeal
®
is launching its new 1H20 AR3 water-based conformal coating solution. The company, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, reportedly offers the industry's widest range of conformal coating chemistries, and its broadest range of military and UL-certified products. Its newest coating product is a high-performance, high solids, fast drying, water-based acrylic.
According to the company, the coating is especially suited to high volume, in-line dip coating applications. Its excellent electrical properties are directly comparable with solvent-based acrylics, while its adhesion properties and resistance to chemicals and solvents are far superior. What is more, it can protect electronics assemblies at temperature extremes far beyond the capabilities of existing resin-based alternatives.
All this comes in a product that meets the European Council's ever stricter emissions targets, as well as the various health and safety requirements placed on industry.
As a water-based coating, the new material is reportedly extremely safe, and enables enormous reductions in VOC emissions especially in the automotive sector.
While 1H20 AR3 has been developed especially for the automotive dip-coating sector, it meets the requirements of MIL-I-46058C, IPC-CC-830 and UL746 and is therefore entirely suited for anyone who prefers the concept of water-based coatings but has been put off by the extended cure times. The coating is also available in a spray application grade that offers the same benefits of higher solids content and faster drying times.
The coating's visual appearance aids inspection, as its milky-white color when wet allows operators to gauge coverage during coating. As it dries, the white color disappears, leaving a transparent film, but thanks to the UV tracers it contains, it can be inspected further using long wavelength UV light.
