Speedline Receives 3 Vision Awards
Speedline receives three SMT China Vision Awards. Franklin, MA — SMT China Magazine presented Speedline Technologies with three prestigious Vision Awards during ceremonies at the Nepcon China trade event in Shanghai. The awards were received: the MPM Momentum™ in the Printing category; the Electrovert DwellMax Plus™ Nozzle System in the Wave Soldering category; and the MPM Momentum in the Excellence Award Category for Performance.

Winners were honored for their innovative and visionary products and services within the surface mount industry in China. Speedline's MPM Momentum was introduced as its "next generation" printer because it incorporates an unusual level of features and value in an affordable platform. According to Kho Lik Wai, director of sales, Asia, "The Momentum printer series offers the greatest accuracy and fastest cycle times in its class. Our design goal with this series was to take a 'no compromise' approach in providing maximum value for our customers. We are very pleased to have the Momentum honored by SMT China in both the printing and performance categories." Adam Sim, product business manager for Momentum, received the award on behalf of Speedline, and Mr. Kho accepted the performance category honor. Electrovert's DwellMax Plus nozzle system provides a new process solution to the challenges of wave soldering with lead-free alloys. The patent-pending nozzle design also addresses the difficult process issues surrounding wave soldering of thick, thermally massive boards. Mr. Kho commented, "Lead-free alloys are more viscous and have slower wetting times than tin/lead alloys, resulting in bridging and insufficient hole fill. To compensate, production speed is often slowed and product costs increase. The DwellMax Plus uses a wide nozzle system that improves hole fill, increases throughput, and increases yields." The award was accepted by Kwa Siong Soon, manager of service operations.
