Fischer Launches Hybrid Connectors
Hybrid connectors.
Apples, Switzerland — Fischer Connectors is introducing new hybrid connector configurations to complement its L.U.C. (Limited Use Connector) series specifically designed for disposable devices. Electrical contacts can now be mixed with fluid/gas contacts or POF (Polymer Optical Fibers) suitable for transmitting light. Mounted into a handpiece, onto a cable or overmolded, the hybrid connector suits many disposable applications, from catheters to surgical hand tools.

Mateable with high performance Fischer panel and cable receptacles, the cost-effective L.U.C. disposable plug allows permanent equipment to keep working with high cycle lifetime receptacles. Parts are capable of withstanding EtO and Gamma sterilization processes, conforming to the UL/IEC 60601 directives. The connectors are engineered for easy integration of embedded electronics, and are now available in hybrid configurations.
