COTS DC/DC Converters from Calex
COTS DC/DC converter.
Concord, CA — Calex Manufacturing Co., Inc. has introduced the CBAM™ line of power products which allows the company's DC/DC converters to be used in military and avionics applications. This innovative, modular approach allows the system designer to meet stringent MIL-STD requirements with COTS components. For example the CBAM offering is the EFIL-28 filter module.

The EFIL-28 is designed for use with the company's DC/DC converters and allows the system designer to comply with the requirements of MIL-STD-461E, CE101 and CE102. The product is rated up to 200W and can provide filtering for up to two converters. Higher output power filters are available. The EFIL-28 has an input range of 9.5 to 36VDC to accommodate 24 and 28V systems.

The module utilizes aluminum substrate technology and reportedly provides 99 percent efficiency. It provides an all ceramic solution for high reliability. The unit is housed in a 2.3 x 2.4 x 0.5-in. package. Isolation from the baseplate to the pins is 700VDC. The baseplate operating temperature range is -40 to +100°C. The unit is available with either RoHS or non-RoHS construction.
