Omron Names Nigel Blakeway COO
Schaumburg, IL — Omron Electronic Components LLC has named Nigel Blakeway as its new COO and Managing Director. He had previously served at Omron Component Business-European Union (OCB-EU) in Amsterdam as the COO. He has spent his career in the Electronic Components Industry around the world. He spent 11 years working for Matsushita (Panasonic Electronic Components) in Europe, Japan and Asia.

For five years he was with BC Components which was originally Philips Passive Components. He was part of the original divestment team and a director of the new operation. Responsible for Global Sales and Marketing and then became Vice President of the Americas Region. In that position, he was responsible for all aspects of the operation from Manufacturing to Sales and Marketing, Finance and Administration.

He moved to Omron (OCB-EU) in Amsterdam in 2003 to take over the independent components business, where his mission was to establish a standalone operation and expand the territories of EMEA — Europe Middle East and Africa.
