XP Power: Desktop Power Supplies
Desktop power supplies.
Sunnyvale, CA — XP Power has introduced its AEL series of energy-efficient, compact, external AC/DC power supplies designed for low and medium power applications. The power supplies include 15, 20, 40, 60 and 80 Watt models, all meeting the energy efficiency standards stipulated by the U.S. government's Energy Star initiative and those of the California Energy Commission (CEC).

The supplies offer a total of 40 single-output models, with output voltages ranging from +5 to +48VDC. Non-standard output voltages are also available. Measuring just 3.58 x 1.5 x 1.42-in. (91 x 38 x 36mm) the 15 Watt model is 85 percent efficient, resulting in less wasted energy. The other power ranges within the series also achieve a minimum efficiency of 85 percent and consume very low standby power, typically 0.3W. The units offer an extended operating temperature range, providing full power from 0 to +40°C and derating to half power at +70°C.

Safety approvals include UL 60950-1/EN60950-1:2001, China Compulsory Certification (CCC) and Limited Power Source (LPS). The units also meet EN55022 and FCC Part 15C Level B standards for both conducted and radiated emissions without the need for additional filtering components.

All models have Class I insulation with the 20 Watt model also available with optional Class II insulation. The power supplies include overvoltage, overload and short-circuit protection features.
