Schunk Intros Centric Clamping Device
Centric clamping device.
Morrisville, NC — Schunk has introduced the Kontec KSK, describing as the first centric-clamping device in the world to be completely encapsulated — ensuring maximum functional capability. The KSK is compact, allowing for more pieces to be placed under the spindle in a single setup, therefore increasing a machine's throughput — effectively eliminating malfunctions due to soiling and trapped chips.

The Kontec KSK can be operated from both sides, is compact, and has a very large clamping range. It can be used as a clamping unit for raw parts or as a precision clamping module with a centering accuracy of 0.02mm.

The tool's unusual slide geometry means that it can be integrated directly into change pallets without any base body, which is a great advantage when it comes to weight, the total height, and the cost. Length is 170mm, the jaw width is 65mm, the clamping range is 0 to 152mm, the clamping force is 20kN at 65Nm, and the centering accuracy is 0.02mm.
