Advanced Interconnections: Nonlinear Peel-A-Way® Patterns
Peel-away removable terminal carrier.
West Warwick, RI, — Advanced Interconnections Corp. now offers its extensive line of Peel-A-Way removable terminal carriers in nonlinear configurations, in addition to traditional single-, dual-, triple-row and grid array patterns. The RoHS-compliant polyimide film carriers can now be ordered in a wider variety of shapes, patterns and pin spacing to suit virtually any through-hole or press-fit application.

Special configurations with random pin patterns and multiple terminal styles on a single carrier can be quickly designed to meet application-specific requirements. Cutouts can be included to provide for component clearance or heat dissipation.

Peel-A-Way carriers have a lightweight, ultra-low-profile insulator — only 0.005-in. (0.13mm) thick — suitable for automated pick-and-place. Supplied with Advanced® screw-machined terminals for reliability, Peel-A-Way carriers can be easily removed after soldering for complete visibility or left in place for added stability.

Multiple terminal styles can be loaded on a single carrier, saving time and eliminating the potential for error associated with hand-loading individual pins on PC boards. Standard and custom terminal styles are available in a variety of plating options. Standard socket terminals accept leads as small as 0.010-in. (0.25mm) and as large as 0.102-in. (2.59mm) and are available with optional solder preforms, which eliminate the need for wave soldering in an SMT environment. Pricing and lead time vary based on terminal selection and quantity.
