Higher Power Blu-Ray Disc Curing from Xenon
Blue-Ray disc curing system.
Wilmington, MA — Xenon Corporation has unveiled the company's new generation of higher power pulsed UV light curing systems. The RC-900 Series, which uses less energy than mercury-based systems, providing a faster pulse rate operation that gives it the ability to deliver 207 Joules/pulse at 25pps max. A new 6kW power supply, the Model PS-916, powers this higher pulse rate.

The high peak energy of each pulse eliminates the need for nitrogen for oxygen inhibition, thus lowering the costs of operation. The need for shutters is also eliminated by the instant ON/OFF control of pulse sequencing. PLC interfacing to the RC-900 Series controller allows the user to set the high energy pulse burst over the range of 1 to 25 pulses per second, enabling ease in maintaining precise curing energy.

The RC-900 series, available with both single (RC-901) and dual (RC-902) lamp housings means users of the company's RC-800 series will be able to upgrade easily to the RC-900 Series, since all the interfacing controls are the same. Units are comprised of a controller, a 6kW power supply, and spiral lamp housing.

Benefits include: low substrate heat, mercury contamination-free, deep penetration, modularity and flexibility. Both systems have CE approval.
