Wire Processor/Crimper from Komax
Wire processing and crimping machine.
Buffalo Grove, IL — Komax Corporation has introduced the Alpha 358 automatic crimping machine, which is designed for two-sided crimping and seal loading of wires up to 985-in. (25 meters) on a machine just 158-in. in length. Coiling and binding wires right on the machine frees up substantial floor space while assuring less possibility of damaged connector parts.
The coiler speed is synchronized with the wire drive while the tension on the conductor is constantly monitored. Gentle coiling is attained without the need for lengthy deposit units.
The machine is designed to be equipped with the company's latest seal applicator, the MCI 765. The unit carries a Seal Position Measurement (SPM) which monitors the seal position on the wire to assure that it is within tolerance.
Automatic pull-out force measurements are also available. The machine performs the pull test automatically and the results are transferred to the user software and compared with the preset values. As with the crimp height measuring device, production cannot be started until the measured results match the specified values. The material is scanned with an optional barcode scanner prior to the start of production and compared with the specified values. This step prevents material from getting mixed up with each other. Processes are constantly monitored during production. Any wires with processing defects are removed and an appropriate number of cables are post-processed automatically to replace them.
