Electrolube Intros 5 New Coatings
Resin Stop fluoropolymer release coating.
Swadlincote, UK — Electrolube's new coating products include the new VOC-free conformal coating, NVOC, and NVMC, a Non-VOC Machine Cleaner. Additional new coating products include Resin Stop, a new fluoropolymer release coating, PCS, a new synthetic peelable coating mask and FSC, a fast-drying silicone-based conformal coating. NVOC is a polyurethane-based coating which reacts with atmospheric moisture to produce a tough, flexible coating.
The coating has similar processing parameters and drying times to solvent-based coatings. which enables an easier change to VOC-free PC board protection without changing processing parameters. NVMC, the company's non-VOC Machine Cleaner, was designed alongside NVOC to eliminate the use of solvents when flushing through equipment, preventing any coating deposits left in the machine from curing. Resin Stop, a new fluoropolymer release coating, is especially suited for coating machinery, jigs, molds and other substrates of aluminum, stainless steel, glass and numerous plastics which are likely to come into contact with resin. Once applied to the substrate, Resin Stop provides a dry film that prevents most epoxy and polyurethane resins from adhering. When the resin has fully cured it can simply be peeled off.
Non-corrosive to most substrates, PCS is a flexible, synthetic acrylic latex with good solvent resistance, making it especially suitable for masking components, connectors and other items during a conformal coating process.
The coating is water-based and environmentally friendly. On application the mask is orange and changes to a darker color once cured. It can be peeled very easily by hand after the cure process without breaking or leaving residues. FSC has been designed to protect PC boards exposed to high humidity environments. Available in 400ml aerosol and a 5 litre bulk container, FSC offers excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates and fluoresces under UV light for ease of inspection. With a wide operating temperature, ranging from -50°C to +125°C, FSC is touch dry at 20°C in 10 to 15 minutes and also contains no isocyanates so it can be soldered through without fear of highly toxic gases being produced.
