Sunstone Releases DFM Add-On for Layout Tool
Mulino, OR — Sunstone Circuits has released a factory certified add-on that enforces its manufacturing capabilities interactively inside CadSoft's EAGLE PCB Layout™ tool. According to the company, the DFM Add-On, EAGLE PCB Layout allows users to design with more confidence that their PC board will be manufacturable by Sunstone.

It does this by leveraging the Design Rule Checking (DRC) engine built into EAGLE and supplying a full complement of company-specific rules for the EAGLE DRC engine, According to the company, it ensures that a designer's work will conform to its published manufacturing capabilities. The add-on to EAGLE PC board users is being provided as a free service.

Benefits of the DFM Add-On include reduced costs since it helps to eliminate design errors early in the design process, minimizing the need for costly corrections later; reduced time because PC boards can be designed more quickly by utilizing an existing rule deck instead of users creating their own; process simplification — relieve pain points in the design process by following a rule deck every step of the way.
