analytica to Showcases Hot New Companies
Munich, Germany — The 21st analytica will be held April 1-4, 2008, at the New Munich Trade Fair Center in Munich, Germany. Some 950 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors from around the world are expected, and approximately one-third of all visitors are from outside Europe. It will include, for the first time, an exhibit area exclusively dedicated to recently founded companies ready to present new business ideas, introduce products and develop personal contacts.

The expo has inaugurated the InnovationsArea to accommodate small, pioneering companies from biotechnology, life sciences, chemical processing, nanotechnology, microprocessing techniques, lab-on-chip system, nano-chemistry, microreaction technology and bioinformatics industries. To qualify as a start-up for the InnovationsArea, companies may not be more than five years old or have more than 15 employees.

Experts agree that new, small companies influence worldwide research and development and play an important role in the transfer of technology between the scientific and commercial sectors. They create marketable products from research results, and in doing so create economic momentum.

The analytica Conference is a summit for cutting-edge research. It includes a Job Day as well as the Business & Markets Forum for 2008, formerly called analytica Forum. The Business & Markets Forum will feature presentations and panel discussions on economic-policy and business topics.

analytica, which includes the analytica Conference, is a trade fair for analysis, laboratory technology, biotechnology/life sciences, diagnostics and data and process management. The expo is held every two years.

analytica is part of an international network of trade fairs, including the trade fairs analytica China (Shanghai, Sept. 23 - 25, 2008) and analytica Anacon India (Hyderabad, October).
