Datakey Intros Immersion-Rated Data Carriers
Savage, MN — Datakey Electronics, Inc. has released a new patent-pending line of Immersion-Rated Receptacles. These Receptacles complement the company's proven data carriers, giving OEMs a 1-stop system solution. The new SR4310 receptacles are now available in IP-66 (splash-proof), IP-67 (immersion-rated), and IP-67-EMI (immersion-rated, EMI reduction) versions.
This product meets the growing need of OEMs to have a reliable, long-term available, and proven portable memory system that also offers protection in wash-down or outdoor applications where the device is exposed to dust, water, rain, chemicals, and more. According to the company, the off-the-shelf extension of its mating receptacle family, eliminates unnecessary technical risk. These receptacles utilize the company's unique, 50,000 cycle contact system that has been proven successful for over 15-years in harsh military, medical and industrial environments. The receptacles are compatible with the entire line of proven SlimLine
Memory, Extended SlimLine Memory and Managed-Memory
Tokens, offering four industry-standard interface options and memory capacities from 1kbit to 1GB.
The SR4310 has a tough outer shell that prevents dust and water from entering the OEM's electronics enclosure through the receptacle opening. The design has the added option of providing the outer shell in a highly-conductive plastic to offer extra EMI protection. The SR4310 receptacles are panel-mount devices that combine over-tighten protection and a gasket for sealing. They have molded-in threaded inserts to provide easy and tamper-evident installation. The receptacles include a detent mechanism that both increases token retention and gives users tactile confirmation when an inserted token is physically engaged, as well as a self-wiping action that cleans the contacts with each insertion and removal.
