Anomet: Precious Metal Clad Wire & Ribbon
Precious-metal clad wire and ribbon.
Shrewsbury, MA — A full range of precious metal clad wire and ribbon for makers of medical connectors, microswitches, and related high-reliability devices is available from Anomet Products, Inc. The wire and ribbon are metallurgically bonded to a core material, have a smooth, consistent surface finish, are functionally equivalent to solid products, and cost considerably less.

Especially suited for use in medical devices and other high-reliability components, precious metals can include platinum for biocompatibility, oxidation, and corrosion-resistance, gold for contact-resistance, and palladium or silver.

Providing greater ductility and formability than filled or plated products, the precious metal clad wire is available from 0.002 to 0.125-in. O.D. and ribbon up to 1-in. wide, with 2 percent or more cladding thickness, depending upon the desired properties. The core materials can include stainless steel, Kovar®, niobium, Nitinol®, nickel-iron, molybdenum, tantalum, and titanium.
