Fibox Enclosures Are Submersible
Hinged enclosures can be submerged.
Glen Burnie, MD — Fibox Enclosures now provides expanded UL and cUL environmental ratings for its ARCA Series enclosures. In addition to the Type 4 and 4X hose-down rating, Type 6, 6P, 12, and 13 ratings have been added for enclosures 12 x 10-in. and smaller. These ratings apply to a screw cover enclosure, a hinged screw cover enclosure, and a hinged enclosure with several latch configurations. Type 6 and 6P are 6 feet (1.8m) submersion ratings for 1 and 24 hours, respectively. Type 12 and 13 ratings add protection from oil and non-corrosive coolants. Larger ARCA sizes also have additional ratings and are now rated Type 4, 4X, 12, and 13.

State-of-the-art ARCA enclosures are manufactured using injection molded polycarbonate, a high performance plastic. The stylized electrical enclosures offer ease of customization, robust construction, superior chemical resistance, and wide temperature range. Standard interior enclosure sizes range from 6.00 x 6.00 x 4.00-in. up to 14.00 x 12.00 x 7.00-in.

The enclosures' rugged construction provides a distinctive appearance without sacrificing robustness. The stylized cover has an overlapping design that reportedly provides superior protection of the formed-in-place polyurethane (PUR) gasket. Mounting plates plus fixed and hinged inner panels are available in either metal or non-metallic versions.
